In treatment by this method, the emphasis is laid on those symptoms which affect the mind in a large measure. Then, attention is paid to those symptoms that are of special nature and might have been caused by one or more diseases. The homeopaths also pay attention to those symptoms as well that are different in different people though the disease may be the same.

In this way, there can be one medicine for ten different diseases and many medicines for one disease on the basis of different symptoms. Another factor in this treatment is that emphasis is not laid on the medicine of the disease but on the patient and his symptoms. Hahnemann believed that the body of every person flights the same diseases in a different manner. The effect on any disease on different persons can also vary. For treatment, these symptoms are aggravated temporarily by the medicine. In this way, the resistance of the patient to fight the aggravated symptoms also increases. These artificially aggravated symptoms are suppressed easily, and the resistance of the body had also increased with the symptoms, the body is able to fight out the disease which gradually disappears.

In 1873, Dr. Schuessler analyzed the blood of healthy persons and found that in certain ailments, the quantity of 12 salts found in the body decreased. In homeopathy, these salts are used as biochemical salts in eradicating the symptoms of the diseases. These salts are also used in minimum quantity as is the case with other homeopathic medicines.

Modern Homeopathy

The modern homeopaths have also started utilizing modern discoveries and methods like the Ayurvedic, Unani and Allopathic physicians. In most cases, homeopaths now adopt the methods of their competitors from other therapies. There has been hardly any improvement and progress in the traditional methods of this system.
